Parents' Page
If you want to know more about Scouting in general, please click here to go to the Page for Parents of Prospective Scouts, which has links to a range of informative Fact Sheets on the National Website.
If you would like to know what County Activities are being planned, please click on the purple Activities button above left. Similarly for Section news (Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts, Scouts, Explorer Scouts, Scout Network ), please click on the Section button above left.
Scouting always needs helpers. You do not need to go be a warranted leader in order to make a valuable contribution to Scouting (although obviously we are always in need of Scout Leaders). There is a position of Assistant, designed specifically for adults who wish to help on a non-warranted basis. To find out more about being an Assistant or Leader, please talk to your child's Group or Section Leader, or call the County Scout Centre on 0116 277 8998 for information.
All adults working in the Scout Movement have undergone stringent security checks undertaken by National Headquarters and volunteers must now complete CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) checks prior to taking up their appointments. Leicestershire Scouts' Child Protection Officers are Linda Jagger and Jane Young.
We would be very happy to provide more pages directed towards parents of Scouts, but we need to know what kind of information you wish to see here. If you have ideas for the contents of these parent orientated pages, please e.mail your ideas to the site Webmaster.
